The business challenge
The company desperately needed to improve and digitise critical HR processes and operational inefficiencies, as well as alleviate high call volumes in their HR contact centres.
Printing and distributing paper payslips to thousands of employees every month was a mammoth task. This was a logistical nightmare for both our client and their workforce, particularly for the company’s dispersed frontline workers who are far away from home, working long hours in underground mines and on massive production sites for weeks and months at a time. These blue-collar frontline workers rely heavily on their monthly income to ensure the well-being and survival of their families.
Lack of easy, immediate access to digital payslips made it difficult for workers to apply for loans, SASSA grants, hire-purchase contracts, or even buy essential furniture on credit. In addition, employees had to wait at least a month for any corrections to their remuneration to be processed, affecting their work lives and the well-being of their loved ones.
The Wyzetalk solution
Our product was used to digitise outdated HR practices and streamline critical business processes. Using secure bespoke API integration with SAP and other providers, we were able to effectively optimise inefficient, expensive and labour-intensive HR and business processes.
Our client’s staff immediately had greater control over their HR affairs. They are now receiving digital rather than printed payslips, allowing them to easily conduct their personal matters from wherever they may be. With the Wyzetalk solution in place, they’re able to take care of any HR matters, such as leave applications and approvals, all via their mobile phones.

Digitising payslips has saved time and money while addressing key challenges faced by frontline workers, and HR processes have been streamlined as a result.
Within just three months, over 81% of employees registered and used the platform – exceeding 30% of the expected adoption rate.
Employees have immediate and easy access to their proof of income from anywhere, improving their daily work experience.
Payment queries are now resolved quickly and easily, operational inefficiencies have been addressed, and HR call centre volumes have dropped as a result of the digitisation.
The mobile platform has been adopted across multiple other business units within the company, and our client is in the process of deploying additional modules of the Wyzetalk solution to further optimise business processes.
